Was a good school until a couple of years ago, Low expectations of students, poor behaviour disrupting learning of those keen to learn, poor leadership, high turnover of staff. Would say that the SEN department were excellent, Shame other departments let pupils down. Would sadly not recommend anymore.
Awful, awful school teachers are useless don’t care about Children’s mental health. All of the teachers are leaving due to the deputy head teacher as she is awful and not at all nice. I hated it there, didn’t help when I was bullied and wasn’t given the help I needed for my exams. The maths teacher I had wasn’t even a maths teacher, she was psychology. She also didn’t teach us what we needed for our maths exam as she said it wasn’t going to be in the exam and yet it was!
I have been constantly bullied since year 7 (year 11 now) and i have received no support or help for this, and constantly get punished for using self defense. School seems overall more focused on catching the “evil vapers” than they are supporting their students with bullying and mental health.
I think Aylesford is an excellent school that gives fair grades. However I do believe that in the current covid situation they should either cancel more exams or give some extra support like telling the students what topics to expect (but in more detail than just the sector). Although overall it is a lovely place and the teachers are very friendly.
Teachers never explained reasoning for punishments and those punishments were unfair at that, you could be using self defence and you be the only one in shit for it, learned more outside of school then I did within it too, wouldn’t recommend
Aylesford is an okay school. I didn't find it the best as I feel like I was treated like an incompetent child. It does not have a great learning environment. However, some teachers are great.
