Just rubbish really
Almost everything about this school is bad, you get to wear your own clothes and choose your GCSES almost freely but other than that it's not great. They have no sort of behavioural system that actually works, many people have done absolutely terrible things but just get a negative point. They do not deal with bullying in any way shape or form and have a very secluded pastoral system so it doesn't feel like you can actually ask for help. No pastoral help is offered unless you come in in year 7 from primary school with a known mental health issue. (I can't speak on the care for students with needs as I'm not one) The teachers and lessons do not push, challenge or inspire gifted children and do not inspire the ones who need help to try. There is no encouragement for children to actually try in their lessons so you just end up loosing and will you had to learn within a year or two.
Anthony Gell needs improvement
I went to this school from 1976 to 1981. It's a shame to hear that the school still has unaddressed problems, I was hoping it had improved. During my time here I experienced bullying and nothing was done about it. The teaching was inadequate to say the least, for example my male French teacher just sat at his desk looking at porn, no lie! He had a terrible attitude and treated our lessons as a joke. Some of the teachers were extremely condescending and rude to the pupils, they wouldn't get away with it today. Good Luck to future pupils and remember, don't let any teachers talk down to you, stand up for yourselves!
Alful school don't send kids
Both me and my sibling had a horrible time here no pastoral support or support for ppl who are nerodivent or have learning needs. Pastoral don't deal with bullying . Don't deal with Physical or sexual assault issues. Has little support for anyone LGBTQ+. No support for mental health.

The pastoral team don't know how to deal with mental health issues usually make them worse. Don't know how to deal with bulling also the negative/positive system doesn't work as soon as you get 10 negatives it no longer matters to you its utterly pointless. The teaching system is rubbish they don't know how to help different people they just teacher everyone the same way and if you say you don't under stand the teaching they will explain it in the same way.

It’s an okay school
I really enjoyed Gell, the school’s no uniform policy is good and the teachers are nice. All students got to pick the Gcse they wanted too. however if you are mixed race or a ethnicity other than white it’s a bit difficult. Many of my friends never got proper help from the pastoral team and the pastoral team never put my name down for counselling, even after promising they would. But overall, i like Gell.
Quite bad tbh
I use to go to Anthony Gell and got bullied constantly and called many slurs, so I went to pastoral about it and they did absolutely nothing and it continued, so I went again and they still did nothing, so then I told my parents and they rung the school and yet again they still did nothing and it went in for the rest of my time at the school. The teachers are alright but some of them favour students which is unfair (it’s usually the smarter ones) and some teachers just expect you to know everything also, on my first week there some of the teachers yelled at people for getting lost but some teachers are really understanding and offer to help you (as they should.) The school has also never been redone and only recently got new flooring my sister told me

Dreadful
Completely useless at dealing with bullying, great if you want your kids to lose any academic ambition. Bad school for academic achievers. Really nasty interior that hasn’t been done since it was built. Teaching is ok but the kids are really dreadful as they grew up together and pick on outsiders.
