Just a big jumble of special needs.
For a while, AB was reputed to be the jewel in Knowsley’s education crown. Nowadays, however, the school is run as a private kingdom and presided over by several uncompromising, unimaginative, unpleasant and inexperienced despots, who wield their authority with ruthless glee in this woke-nonsense, knee-jerk fiefdom.
No longer the carefully screened cohorts of pupils entering the school, but rather 60-70 year sevens ne’er-do-wells, of all types and persuasions, are welcomed each year; children who can frequently be heard screaming and swearing at staff and oftentimes coming to blows with the same unfortunate staff.
The new Head evidently decided that she just wanted a big school.. a case of quantity over quality and an inability to say no to anyone in the authority at the LEA.
Staff can be constantly heard shouting and bawling at pupils and the deputy likewise.
By many accounts, staff are harassed out of position and post if they dare to challenge or question the SLT in any way. So many instances of staff bullying I’ve lost count.
If you are a parent, you should fight tooth and nail NOT to have your child sent here.
If you’re looking for employ, avoid this place if possible. The staff who made this place 3 times outstanding, and possibly Knowsley’s only success story- have all flown the coop I’m afraid and all you have now, are desperate characters who would work anywhere and under any conditions (possibly because they could t get a job anywhere else..?)
Overall summary
SLT- unfriendly, charmless, inexperienced and humorless
TAs - some lovely pleasant experienced characters amongst this group- but just keeping their heads down and praying they’ll make it to retirement..
Teachers - bored, depressed and harassed and afraid to speak out for fear of repercussions..
Pupils- neurotic, aggressive and highly unlikely to contribute to society in future- (except perhaps to job centre queues and prison populations…?)
Overall, not a pleasant place to work at all. Below average in all areas and not a pleasant place. Avoid at all costs.
