This school is bad

The school I’d covered in gum and the toilets look terrible the school forces ideologies on you so I rate it as low as the rating can go

One of the worst school.

This school is absolutely awful. Some of the teachers are nice , but the rest are all stupid and most of the time , students know better. They don’t handle violent situations as they should and I hate it.

i’m traumatized

Absolutely sht for people dealing with bad mental health, literally gave up on me half way through 💀 they aren’t good AT ALL at dealing with bullying and stuff like that and they mostly care about uniform and looking smart instead of actual learning. most teachers pick on the quiet kids by calling on them despite knowing they aren’t comfortable with speaking and don’t really understand when they are upset. Also sht at looking after people if i didn’t make that clear already 🤭 it feels so unsafe

don’t send your kids here

awful with mental health
only care about looking like a good school (uniform, high grade percentages etc)
a few of the teachers genuinely care about the students but there are very few
don’t send your kids here‼️‼️ left 3 years ago and the place literally traumatised me

Sixth form

I joined at the beginning on year 12, and i have never felt so happy and settled into my school environment. The teachers are lovely and provide endless support and the sixth form community is so so welcoming

Good school, students eeh

Ridgeway is great I’ve studied there for 5 years in the high school. I’ve just joined the 6th form there as of 2022.

It’s a great school they are always adapting their curriculum to help teach the new generations on going knowledge.

They have such a wide variety of subjects that you can take and they are constantly working with examiners to help make sure each student has the best possible outcome.

On the other hand sutdent aren’t usually the greatest as they are all trying to be better than one another. If you are high up in popularity within your year you get into a lot of drama and if you are lower down there is less of it. Only thing I would say with marking friends is don’t go for the wanna be populars. They only care for themselves and will leave you in the dirt.

The school itself has a good way of dealing with bullying and other types of bad behavior.

School

Jdjxhdbdh

Ridgeway school is a fine place for students to learn and be educated but for some students they feel threatened hurt and bullied all around the school the teachers are friendly (most of them) and the lessons are ok but for the care at ridgeway is 1/2 and 1/2 they either care or they don’t care if a child feels threatened they do not come to poastarol hub because they know you might not do anything

Sincerely .

Dont go here

Worst school ever. People disregarded you as human if you had nothing to offer to them. Very cliquey. If you didn’t have a reason to talk to someone, you wouldn’t, you’d be seen as irrelevant to them. The teachers are worse than the students. Not diverse at all eventhough theyre all convinced its so diverse. No POC teachers. The teachers were racist. Since all the teachers were white they would only bond with the white students just because they could relate to them. The safeguarding team was so shit, they did absolutely nothing. This place traumatised me so much. Very uneducated on different cultures, religions and communities (both the students and teachers). Forced the muslim students to do PE when they were fasting. Rigged all the voting (eg prom king and queen, and the awards). Dont get me started on how bad prom was, they didn’t even have a vegetarian option. Scammers i only bought the yearbook for the quotes and they didn’t even put it in because “there wasn’t enough space”. So ignorant they dont even realise how much is wrong with this school, i hope they change. Genuinely such a shitty school with such a hostile environment, all the groups hated each other and even within the groups people hated each other and were fake even to their friends. The teachers weren’t helpful at all.

Okay

it’s alright, they care more abt ur uniform than education tbh and when it comes to them dealing with your mental health a lot of the time they disregard it and make you feel shit about even going to them. you can rlly see who cares and who doesn’t in that school lol

Not great

They don’t care about the students they just want them to get the best grades and teach what u need as fast as they can
I could name two good teachers that actually help the individual with the work but the rest just expect you to know it
They claim to care about mental health and lgbt+ issues and claim to be inclusive but they really do nothing if you do have a problem

They don't care about students

They honestly do not care about there students, they only show there impressive grades to make it look like a good school but they care more about chewing gum and uniform than bullying and metal health, I would not recommend, although most teachers are nice and caring some are horrible and the student support team just preach what they think will make them look good and then do nothing about. If you care about mental health don't go here

Would not recommend

My honest opinion about this school is that it’s an absolute sh*t show. The facilities they have are run down and out of date, the members of staff only accommodate to the typically ‘smart’ students making it a very clear divide in both behaviour and academics. Mental health isn’t taken seriously for both male and females but especially men. There are no members of male staff in the well being department and men are just expected to get over what ever they’re going through. There lessons on mental health and sex education are absolute shambles, they only teach the bare minimum and don’t bring up new concepts like non binary, gay relationships ect. If i were you and you wanted your child to go to a school where they feel safe, appreciated and like a human being then this school is not the one for you. I hope Mr Povoas reads this and takes on some of this feedback because this school needs patterning up.

Most teachers there are lovely but most staff are awful. They will not help students that are struggling with education or mental health. They also do not protect students that are part of the lgbt+ community as a student kept saying homophobic insults and slurs at me and my friends and it has been reported to the staff countless of times and nothing has been done. I personally would not recommend this school because of what I personally went through and what many other students encountered aswell.

Don't go here if you value mental health

It’s fairly clear that the school administration absolutely doesn’t care about its students from years 7-11 but at least most of the science teachers are decent.
