An honest review by a student (me)

I’m a yr 9 student and I really dread about coming into school almost everyday.

Don’t get me wrong. The education is fine and has helped a lot. The main problem is people that come to this school. Everyone in my classes make me feel like crap every day, let me share some of my experiences.

We all know about the pakistan and Israel war and st Anne’s is a school that is very mixed of the two religions, a while ago girls would constantly come up to me and say “hey ___ what side are you on in the Pakistan and Israel war?” I would often say I didn’t have a side because 1: I’m an atheist and 2: I think they’re just as bad as eachother, but when I say that this girl comes up to me and says “how dare you, there are poor people suffering in Pakistan, go die!” Like I’m sorry for not having the same opinion as you. Staying on this topic, during a lesson I had girls in my class were talking about how children were being killed during the war, this of course made me feel extremely uncomfortable because I don’t want to talk about a child seeing a baby’s brain on the side of the road while I’m doing my chemistry work thank you.

Moving onto another experience I’ve had here is during an English lesson, I found out that people in my class had made up this joke called the [real name] touch. Like what am I? The bloody coronavirus? It came to the point where most girls in my class sit away from me and say ‘EWWW’ whenever I’m near them and start laughing. I had a bloody mental breakdown at lunch and my friends had to console me. The worst part is the teachers in the hub are no help whatsoever. I complained about this to a teacher in the hub and all she said was ‘write it down in your planner if it happens and that person will be kept behind after class’ I understand you think it’s helpful but then it’ll just happen constantly and possibly it’ll get worse.

This school has made me suicidal and has ruined my mental health completely and I really don’t know what to do anymore

Thank you for reading, it really means a lot to have someone see from my perspective. <3

Really good

I honestly really love this school!
Compared to other schools, the teachers are so friendly and really care about how we learn. There is barely any bullying, and in the rare case that there is the teachers sort it out really well. It is also so easy to make friends with anyone of any religion or background. And high marks are achieved in every lesson! There is also so many things you can do outside of school hours with almost every subject showing!

Horrific experience in year 7

This school has a beyond horrific the staff are absolutely rude I was threaded when I was in year 7 , being a first year I was troublesome but the way that the staff at the hub dealt with it was horrible I quote these exact words , after they found out I was burning things in my own house which was none of their concern for it was my house “I should show this to the fire department when your house is on fire “ the disrespect after it was none of their concern …

My time at St Anne’s

I think St Anne’s isn’t too bad but it just depends how people perceive you and how you are and I don’t really have a problem with bullying or anything but to improve the school should get new toilets and improve the school as it is not the best. Other than that, I’m glad to be at St Anne’s :)

It’s horrible

literally can’t stand this school, they are pure racist and they worry too much about looks and not at all about your actual education. As well as during lockdown when we had online school they messaged everyone asking questions about how we are all feeling and how our mental health it ‘to help us”, me and several others wrote it’s going shit and it’s hard keeping up with the work, then they did literally nothing, the same week we got calls home to parents telling them all the work we haven’t done. They care too much about if we have a bit of mascara on rather then if we need help in anything, and i could go on and on about how this school is shit. also makes all the ppl of religion that’s not catholic and atheists read the bible and stuff, this school is just failing

Forced to go to church

I left this school because I was forced to attend church! I am an atheist and they should not be doing this even if it is a catholic school.
